About Me

My name is Rissa. There are a lot of aspects of me that made me who I am. I have been a victim of child abuse and spousal abuse, and rape. I was not raised by my parents, I did not know who they were for a long time. I was adopted by my grandparents at the age of 17 after living with them since I was 12 years old. I have been married and divorced twice. I am a disabled Army Veteran. I have a BS in Psychology and I am obtaining my MS in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling. I have a number of health issues that include injuries sustained while in the Army, endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), migraines, traumatic brian injury (TBI), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and have been recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) to name a few.

I have been trying to write a book about my life and the obstacles that I have faced along the way for many years. I have started writing it numerous times with not getting very far. I want to write many books about some of the issues that I have encountered along my journey. My goal of this blog is to not only talk about my life, but to get information out to others as well, to share interviews and stories with you, and maybe even inspire. This blog will help me in my process of writing my books as well. I am not looking to exploit anyone at all. I look forward in getting to know you and I hope to inspire.
